Home staging

Hi

I would like to be able to do some home staging (adding 3D furniture to an existing photo like this one below).

What is the best method to do this on D5?
How would you do to get the right angle, shadows etc.?

Thanks for your help and have a nice day !

The simplest way is to open the built-in library of D5 Render and place the furniture and objects. Alternatively, you can download and load external models into D5 Render, then apply materials and proceed with setting the effects.

Yes, of course, but what about the right angle, the shadows etc. ? Can we display the photo directly in the viewport background on D5 so that we can rework it like a layer?

I’m sorry, I didn’t understand your question. So the photo you sent is actually just a 2D background image, not a 3D model, right?

Exactly ! And my client want to put some 3D furniture on it

I think the quickest and most efficient way is to use AI to insert the objects into the image.

Haha I knowwwww !

But that’s also why I’m surprised that D5 doesn’t come up with something effective for this type of project.

Do you have a recommendation for a qualitative AI app?

Just use the AI of the latest Photoshop version!

I would just model the room working with d5, the photoshop solution will not be able to
produce correct shadows.

You can use modeling, but the lighting and image quality (effects) will not match the original image. If I were the client, I wouldn’t accept that.

Quick test with Photoshop AI tool

The rendering is quite realistic, but the furniture proposals are questionable :joy:

Kinda depends if you really want to be sure that the furnitures are ok for the room the original photo is not really relevant. What really relevant is are the dimensions and the materials of the existing room including windows and that can be modeled.

Hi @perriardbastian

We currently don’t have this feature similar to the AI Tool being incorporated in Adobe Photoshop.

I’m hoping a kind man or woman will help us with this. I also need it to virtually stage a photo of an empty room.
