Holes in scatter area

Hi guys,

I´m constantly getting holes in the scatter areas I generate from Rhino meshes that look good. Any advice to avoid them? Thanks in advance

Hi,

Sorry for the inconvenience. Is your terrain a complete surface? If it is convenient, can you send the scene file (The entire folder where the .drs file is located) to support@d5techs.com with the briefly describe. We will check it.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I´ve just sent you an email with the surface attached.

I´m not sure what you mean by complete surface, but here is a screenshot of the mesh. It has more resolution than the previous one above, although the result of the scattering area was the same (poor)

Hi,

Thanks for your cooperation. I will test your file from my end.

Sorry because you were asking for the .drs file and I sent you the Rhinoceros file.

Interesting enough, I was setting up a new project with just that surface, and I tried to create the scatter area there: the result was great, with a high scatter detail. So the issue seems to be related with that other scene

Yes, I opened the file and there are no holes above the scattered faces. So it should have something to do with your scene file above. Does that terrain have a bump on it that is causing the scattered faces to disconnect?

Yes, I believe the issue was just the 3D terrain covering some areas of the scatter…

However for smaller meshes I sometimes get just a few scatter squares, making the final result more limited. Do you know if there is anyway to make them smaller in size?

Sorry if this is a separate topic. The mesh in this screenshot is 5 meters wide (those subdivision squares are 5x5 m)

Uneven ground can make the Scatter discontinuous. Currently the size of the Scatter squares is not adjustable, you can adjust its density appropriately maybe it will be better. But I’ll get this request back to our team.
