Hidden layers, slowing file

Currently I am making a video where I am using 3d elements through D5.

But I have noticed that, while I add more stuff to the scene but hide it all, the file gets way slower to render.

An example to clarify: I started with a scene where some simple items are flying around with a few glasses and lights around it. This was rendered on 4k within a minute.

Now 10 layers later, one of the last scenes is almost equal to the one mentioned above. But even though al other layers are hidden, and the scene is almost the same as the first, it takes a few minutes before it even goes from 0%. Then rendering takes 10 minutes.

Any clue how to fix this?

Hi mate, this sounds abnormal, and it may be a bug. We will test and let you know the result.
If we cannot reproduce the issue, we may need your scene file for further troubleshooting.

Thanks,
Oliver

My apologies Oliver, I apparently was a bit ‘too soon’ with my judgement. The only thing (which ofcourse anyone ALWAYS should try) is to restart the computer. Because today, the problem didn’t occur with the exact same file.
