Foliage texture / colour alteration issue

Hello. If the plant asset I require isn’t in the library then I often find something similar in shape and try to alter the colour of the leaves or flowers accordingly, however, when I use the Base Colour Map settings it only changes the top part of the leaf/flower - I assumed there must be a separate texture for the under side but this is not the case, the underside remains almost as per the original colouring. For example I downloaded the asset ‘American Begonia’ which is pink and tried to make the flowers white to look like a variety of prunus, but the bright pink parts that remain prevent me from achieving the necessary look I need - the same seems to apply to all vegetation whereby the undersides don’t fully alter like the top parts do.

I appreciate that I’m probably the only D5 user with this issue so I don’t expect you to spend much time on it, but if there is a quick fix for me than that would be great

Hi @3DG

Does changing the Base Colour Map’s HSB still not satisfy the look that you’re trying to achieve?

Even if I remove all hints of pink from the upper part of the surfaces (S = 0), the lower still shows pink. I’m trying to achieve a completely white effect to mimic another plant that isn’t in the asset library. This is a strange feature of D5 where the primary surface on display behaves differently to the secondary face even though they have the same texture.

Hi @3DG

Can you provide images of what it looks like on your end and what you’re trying to achieve? A before modification and an after modification would do.
