For the second time, an important file I’ve been working on — especially the landscaping part — simply won’t load, crashes, and closes the program.
I’ve used D5 on other projects before, and everything worked fine.
I even created several backups to avoid losing my work, but none of them will open.
It’s becoming unfeasible to use the software for larger projects, especially those involving more complex landscaping. It’s unacceptable for this to happen — and now for the second time.
I can share the file in case any moderator would like to test it.
File optimization is essential when working with large files, most especially when it involves a lot of scatter or vegetation assets. An 8GB or 12 GB VRAM may be insufficient, and even 16GB VRAM if it is really massive. Updating your Drivers should also help.
Additionally, we can also test this file for you and see how much VRAM it consumes on our end. You may send it to support@d5techs.com and have it titled Clov-Forum File Won’t Load - Second Time Losing My Work?
I am able to open your file using an RTX 3070 Laptop with 8GB VRAM. I have enabled the following options to minimize lag and further consumption of VRAM:
LOD - Enabled
Cull Distance - Enabled
This is a PC Device or is it a laptop device?
Just to clarify, you’re using 2.11.0.0605 or 2.11.0.0603, right?
Can you generate a log file? This seems abnormal considering that your file was opened with a much lower device spec. Please send it to me privately here in the forum so we can proceed with further troubleshooting and investigation of this issue.
