Hello, I have been using d5 for 5 years now and this is the first time I have had to ask for help.
In the announcement of version 2.0 there is the innovative presence of the new Amd FSR technology (FidelityFX Super Resolution).
I have a computer with a gtx 1080 (compatible with this technology) and I would like to be able to use it with this new technology, so I can get more rendering performance.
Does anyone know how to activate it? I can’t find anywhere the way to activate this technology. Is there an extension to download?
Fidlity FX FSR is AMD’s answer to NVIDIA’s DLSS. Meaning the GPU is providing the tech. Since you are using a gtx 1080 you are on the NVIDIA side. DLSS is only enabled on RTX GPU’s (i.e. 30- and 20- series GPU’s).
What you wrote is not correct, Fidlity FX FSR is created by AMD but it can also be used on nvidia GPUs, I have already tested this technology on many games, where you can activate it with the push of a button.
I’ll tell you more, you can use Dlss and Fidlity FX FSR together and get even more fps and render videos faster.
Now we need to understand why it has been implemented on games but not on D5 render yet.
Hi Blend, you are right that Fidelity FX FSR is AMD’s answer to NVIDIA’s DLSS, but it is an open-source technology and we have implemented it in D5 rendering process, so no matter what graphic card you use, you can benefit from FSR…This is different from DLSS because only RTX GPU can activate DLSS.
Thank you The answer is yes. You may notice that rendered videos appeared a little different(some are more clear) among different builds of D5 2.0 beta, and that is because we are testing the effect of FSR tech.
