FBX Trees From Globe Plants Into D5

Just getting into D5 and loving it so far!

I’m looking for some advice on the fastest workflow to install FBX Trees into D5 that I have purchased from Globe Plants some time ago. They are Australian specific trees + plants and would be quite useful to have as models in D5, but installing manually the individual materials on the models, of approximately 300 models, is not something that I want to tackle manually.

Has anyone got a work around? I could purchase other file types if necessary.

Thanks!

Hi there,

You can try multi-select imports, simply select all the .fbx models you want to import to D5. Let me know if this fits your needs, thank you.

Hello jarryd,

I would try to read the FBX models in Blender.
If the models in Blender with materials have been
correctly, you can then these save or export them and then import them into D5.

This works for the import, but the FBX files have no materials applied. Each tree / plant has anywhere from 4-6 materials to assign manually, which is the task that I am trying to avoid for 300+ models. Thanks for your suggestion.

They do not have the materials applied in blender when imported. Would blender be easier to assign materials rather than in D5? It seems that manually assigning the materials, in all software, is what I am going to have to slowly complete. Thanks

Hi there,

Unfortunately, we dont have a faster option for it but we’re committed to making this process more efficient, though I can’t provide a firm timeline at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
