Exporting to c4d and corona

hello,
if I have a 3D model made in cinema 4D with corona renderer materials applied and I export it to fbx, when I import the file into d5 render it does not recognize the materials but sees the model with a single material. Is there a solution or do I have to transform the crown materials into 4D cinema materials before exporting?

Hello! At this time, fbx and corona (Corona 6, part of Corona 8) materials are all supported to sync to D5. If you experience any problem about this, maybe you can provide us with a video record of your issue.
Best regards

I don’t have to synchronize from cinema but export to fbx from cinema4d

Hi @marcello.cesini,
Is your material node complicated in C4D? D5 doesn’t support the import of overly complicated material nodes at the moment. You can try to use D5 Sync for Cinema 4D and see the results. BTW, which version of Corona renderer are you using?
If it’s convenient, can you send the scene file (The entire folder where the .drs file is located + C4D modelling file) to me or support@d5techs.com?

Hi Team D5 it’s marcello.cesini

I have an alternative, maybe I could even be wrong. I don’t know Cinama 4D well, although I’ve used it very little in the past, but if the program you use Sync in D5 loads the materials you applied, the alternative would be to save it in the local library. Just select the object with its name which is on your left, in the dropdown, looking at the screen, then go to the right where there is the save in the local library, that’s all. You will always have the item in your local library with its materials, whenever you need it.

I hope it is an alternative to your problem.

perhaps I explained myself badly: I don’t have to synchronize the scene but export an fbx (a piece of furniture for example), so that I can then import it into another scene synchronized by rhino in d5 render. I have a video of the problem, how can I send it to you?

Hi, where did you download the FBX model, on which site?
Because if you can transform it into SKP with transmutr, so can OBJ
Or there are free sites that help you convert it into SKP with all the textures, so you won’t have problems importing to D5

If I still don’t understand the problem you mentioned, post the video on YouTube and put the address of the video, pasting it here in the forum
Maybe I have an idea, I’ll insert a scene maybe from Rhino

Then I’m going to insert an FBX file taken from a website into this scene

This file was imported into D5

In this way you place the object, any, in the scene synchronized by any program supported by D5

the fbx object sometimes when you download it is a single block even if in reality it is composed of several parts with different materials. To edit it and divide these parts I use cinema 4d. already having a large library of objects ready in cinema 4d with corona materials, I wanted to understand if I could export them to fbx and import them into d5 and redo the library so that I can always use them. The problem is that when I export the crown materials they are not read so the fbx model is a single block and I cannot put the materials back from d5. if instead I use normal 4D cinema materials the material division operation is successful. but this implies having to transform the crown materials of the objects I already have ready into cinema materials and therefore wasting a lot of time.

I understand now it’s a question of exporting to FBX with material that can be read in D5. But if you save the objects from C4 with an export that makes sure that the textures are in another format, i.e. in JPG, you have to see this in C4 when you export it if there is an export option or some graphics program that it does. I think you use quite a few like me.
Try this way to overcome the obstacle, the time will surely decrease, you don’t have to change the textures one by one. :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi, I know you import fbx without sync plugin. D5 doesn’t support the import of overly complicated material nodes in C4D at the moment. You can send the scene file (The entire folder where the .drs file is located + C4D modelling file) and the video to me directly or to support@d5techs.com

thanks, I sent the email to support@d5techs.com with the video of the problem
