Export Camera Locations and Movements?

Is it possible to export camera locations and Camera Movement Templates from one project and import them into another project?

I have multiple D5 projects based on a single SketchUp file that is exported using the D5 plugin. I would like each of the D5 projects to have the exact same camera movements (a 360 Pan from the Camera Movement Templates) around a specified point that is a common point in each project.

I haven’t found any way to define the orbit point using X,Y,Z coordinates but that would be the simplest way to achieve my goal.

Is there any way to do this aside from creating a copy of the D5 project and replacing the objects?
Would doing this result in large file sizes since objects have been imported and deleted?

Looking for any suggestions on this.

Hi there,

We have yet to add a feature that directly copies the Camera Movement unless, you are using 3dsMax or Blender which has a feature in the live sync that syncs the camera movement made in the 3D Modeling software to D5 Render.

In D5 Render, have you tried using the advanced camera tool? You can set the location by its axis but there is a current issue with this tool which involves changing the Projection Mode to Two-point Perspective. I suggest leaving it as it is (Perspective) until we have fixed this issue.

Thank you.

I don’t currently use either of those programs unfortunately. I did try out the advanced camera tool to recreate a single camera view in each of the projects that I’m working on, but I wasn’t able to recreate the 360 Pan.

The advanced camera tool is helpful for other types of renders that I’m creating but I’m kind of stuck on how to create a reliable 360.

Hi there,

You’ve hit on a good point. We currently only offer these parameters for the 360-degree pan template. While you can change the diameter of its scope, there is no option for axis modification and can only be moved manually.

I agree that adding more customization options would be beneficial, and I’ll definitely bring this up with the team. We appreciate your input!
