Editing the terrain to empty a pool

I’ve imported a model from SketchUp where the pool is below the ground. Using the terrain tools I can empty the pool but because the pool has thin walls that can be seen from outside the terrain from outside the pool also gets dragged down.

Is there a way to make very sharp edges with the terrain tool so I can only empty the pool without affecting the slope of the surrounding terrain?

Hi there. Currently, it is pretty hard to achieve very sharp edges using the terrain tool, considering that the brush, even at size 1, does not let you achieve a straight and chiseled edge. We may be adding more features to the terrain tool in future releases, such as the one you mentioned. Thank you.
