Distorted Image even in high reolution rendering

I’m experiencing a strange issue with rendering on my laptop. When I zoom in on rendered images, I notice deformed areas that shouldn’t be there.

To troubleshoot, I rendered the exact same scene on my friend’s laptop, which is identical to mine (Lenovo Pro 7 with Core i9, RTX 4090, and 32GB RAM). Surprisingly, it worked perfectly on their device without any issues.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Updated the graphics card driver.
Updated Windows.
Uninstalled and reinstalled D5 Render.
Tested rendering with other files, but the issue persists.

Despite these steps, the problem remains unresolved.
I’m reaching out here in hopes that someone might be able to assist or provide insights into what could be causing this issue.

Hi, you can try to disable these functions when rendering.

one strange thing, when i logged out from my account and rendered the render became normal
logged in again same problem

i don’t have Ray Reconstruction at all
All turned off already

Is the SR image Rendering turned off?
it should be turned off to have more accurate details there

when you are not logged into D5 the PRO functions are disabled. As nima writes. DS SR is to be disabled in order not to have the error

Now, I myself have the same issue, even when SR is off, and even when LOD is off - turned on custom setting and set to 2 - 2 - 100 - 0.5 - same issue

It should show horizental edges but keeps showing it curvy/slanted (not a texture issue)

it gets like this

Update:
system restarted - 6k - SR off - LOD off - setting GI=3 ref depth=1 SPP=100 rough,=0.5
same issue,
It clearly does this when the object is further away from the camera (which LOD off should take care of it)

I am missing the delivery today anyway, but it is good to know the issue for the rest of the projects

The images make me feel like when SR is turned on (although it is off and restarted)
These wavy tiles make me feel that

Still, the main problem is the texture on the plywood mentioned in the first post. Sending this image just to see if it helps

Hi @nima.mousavi9

  • How do they look in the preview window?
  • Did you enable triplanar for this specific material?
  • If possible, can you send us this D5 File? Let me know.

Well actually I do not expect to see it accurate in the preview since it is a very narrow parallel edge detail. But closer to the camera it shows very well, like the render
I tried triplaner but did not get the result either, but will try that again
And sens the D5 file to you as well asap

@Clov, did you get a chance to download the D5 folder I sent you in WeTransfer?
It will stay available for less than a day

Hi @nima.mousavi9

Yes, we were able to replicate the issue, even with the final rendered image, it is visible and when zoomed in, it will disappear. We will be further investigating this issue. Thank you.

Our team was able to test the file that you have sent:

The issue that is being experienced in these specific surfaces with this material is the Moiré effect, it’s a common visual distortion in rendering that appears as an unwanted, large-scale pattern of wavy lines, ripples, or colored streaks.

It’s an interference of two or more fine, repetitive patterns that are imperfectly superimposed or sampled. Currently we don’t have a complete workaround for this issue and it may be best to change the material of the grain.
