Difference between rendering and result

I’m rendering in Rhino 7, and I’m seeing a discrepancy between what I see and the final result. What’s causing this? For reference, the dirt road is a normal surface, not a mesh.

Hi @cyh21534

I apologize for the inconvenience. I’m not sure which of the two images is the final render or the preview screen image, since both of them display preview window image information. Can you please confirm and attach the final rendered image?

  • Please try to disable the Legacy option and see if the image discrepancy is still there.
  • Another option you might want to check is Super Resolution, FSR, or FPS Booster, try to disable them and see if there is a huge difference.

The part you mentioned was already disabled. In the image I showed you, the top part is the image I’m working on, and the bottom part is the final render (or Accumulate).

Final render(or Accumulate)

Hi @cyh21534

I actually remember testing your file before, which yielded different results even with the previous version, but it was only specific to a certain material (Road Surface 29).

  • Previous workaround: When the roughness parameter of the material exceeds 0.5, RT and PT will process it according to the maximum 0.5 in real time(preview), while PT will process it according to its actual value greater than 0.5 both in accumulation mode and output. Please try to adjust the roughness to 0.5 or below, and check whether the preview and output are consistent.

  • I also tested it in 2.11; it seems normal on my end. Although there is a slight difference, which is expected.
