D5 to read the mesh color from rhino

HI,

I have a question, i do have a model in Rhino, imported obj mesh which has colors by itself, and i can see the colors in my render view in rhino.

But when I link the model to D5 it cant see the color data which assigned to mesh, and it shows me as a white model.

Is there a way for D5 to read data colors from the mesh? What would be the best way to assign the terrain color in D5?

Kindly advise if you had similar issue before.

Thanks!

Hi there, I’m so sorry for the inconvenience you have experienced and Im very much willing to assist you.

  1. May I first know the current version of the following programs that you are using?
  • D5 Render
  • D5 Render Livesync for Rhino (Current latest version as of now is Ver: 1.0.0.0029)
  • Rhino
  1. Does this issue persist in any other files, or is it only present in this file?

Hi,
I am using the Latest versions of both D5 and Rhino.
I think the issue is if D5 has a capability to use in render view information of the colors of the vertexes from the mesh model? It seems at the moment it can only use UV mapping texture.

Thanks

Hi have you tried using “ToSubD” command in Rhino to convert mesh surfaces to SubD before synchronizing? Let me know if this helps.

If the issue persist, we would like to test your file (both rhino and d5 file) on our end to better procure a solution for it. You can send it at support@d5techs.com and have it titled “@Clovis - Forum” and briefly describe the issue for ease. Thank you so much.
