D5 Sync doesn't work in Cinema 4D 2026 & importing normal map issue

D5 Sync doesn’t work in Cinema 4D 2026. It completely disappeared from extensions menu.

Also I would like to report that D5 Sync has serious issue with importing normal map. Generally in Cinema 4D normal map is first connected to Bump Node that is connected to material Bump/Normal input. D5 Sync plugin doesn’t recognize that Bump Node and normal map is not imported. D5 Sync should read normal map that is connected to Bump Node - not Bump material input.

Hi @Smolak

Our team is investigating this issue. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks.

Hi @Smolak

  • C4D 2026 was released around 9.10, and we currently do not support it.

  • This is underexpectation since the material set in the screenshot is RS (Red Shift) series material, and there is currently no support for reading the map of the bump node. Relatively, we support reading bump maps for OC series materials, which may be the requirement you’re looking for. You can test OC + C4D2025 and see if the results are normal.

Hi @Clov, Yes Cinema 4D 2026 was released some days ago. Do you have ETA for support this new version ?

“OC” do you mean Octane materials ? From year Redshift is the main built-in renderer in Cinema 4D.

Hi @Smolak

No estimated time for the release of the new plug-in version, but I’m pretty sure it will be supported sooner.

  • And yes, OC means octane materials.

Problem is that Octane is external, paid renderer where Redshift is native built-in in Cinema 4D. I think that Redshift should be prioritize because of that if D5 Sync is called “for Cinema 4D”
