Download and Installation

• Download D5 LiveSync for Vectorworks

• Installation Steps

  • Close Vectorworks, double-click the installation package ‘D5_Live_Sync_Vectorworks.exe’, and follow the installation instructions.

  • After installation, open Vectorworks - Tools - Workspaces - Edit Current Workspace.

  • Select ‘D5 LiveSync’ in Rendering and drag it to the Palettes panel on the right side, under ‘Basic’ > ‘View/Draw’- click OK.
    

    

  • Click on the 3D Modeling icon in the Tools Sets panel, click D5 Livesync Tool, and the operation panel of D5 LiveSync Tool will appear on the toolbar above.

  • Click on the ‘Settings’ button of the D5 LiveSync Tool to verify that the installed version number is correct.

Features

Connect to the D5 Render

• Click “Connect to the D5 Render” to launch the D5 Render from Vectorworks with one click, and synchronize the current Vectorworks 3D models and materials with D5.

• Supports LiveSync of Renderworks Texture to D5

• Supports ‘Active Only’ for Class/Layer

Real-time update/pause

• Click “Real-time update/pause” button, modifications to models and materials in Vectorworks will not be synchronized to D5 in real-time. Clicking the button again will resume real-time linkage.

Viewports linkage

• ’Viewports linkage‘ is enabled by default after synchronization, maintaining consistent viewports between Vectorworks and D5 Render for real-time synchronization of viewpoints.

• Supports one-click enable/disable for Viewports linkage.

Sync lights

Start light sync, click the “Sync lights” button to sync point lights, spot lights, and custom lights from Vectorworks to D5 Render.

Known Issue

1. Only supports Perspective view

2. Currently, lights only support Point Light, Spot Light, and Custom Light (IES Light).

Uninstall

• Select ‘Uninstall D5 LiveSync for Vectorworks’ from the Start menu for one-click uninstallation.

Using Vectorworks 2024 JAP Ver. and can’t found the D5 render pallets after installed it.
Will the plugin have a release besides .exe?

Welcome to D5 forum and apologies for this issue, which steps that you make, that started to go wrong in the installation steps listed in the post?

1. Currently there should be only .exe format installation package.

2. About the issue of plugins not displaying

• Please combine the above installation steps to operate, and take a screenshot to see the specific abnormalities.

• Or please take a screenshot to see if there are two D5 files(.vlb file & .vwr file) in the path Vectorworks 2024 (Vectorworks installation directory) \Plug-Ins.
  If not, the plug-in was not installed successfully.

Thanks for replying.
I’ve resolved it by reinstalling both the vectorworks and the plugin.
It looks like that the issue is because of I installed both vectorworks 2024 and vectorworks viewer (which be recognized as the same app name by [vectorworks 2024]).

when I export my 3D model from Vectorworks to D5 mi model look like poligons, very low quality. Vectorworks don’t let me change tesselation quality.

I’m using Vectorworks 2025 ITA ver, and I have a similar problem like kosika1992 above: I can’t found d5 render pallets after installed it. Here is a screenshot of two D5 files(.vlb file & .vwr file) in the path Vectorworks 2024 (Vectorworks installation directory) \Plug-Ins .
Do you have any suggestion?

I apologize for the inconvenience. Have you tried checking the plug-in in the WorkSpace Editor?

• Select ‘D5 LiveSync’ in Rendering and drag it to the Palettes panel on the right side, under ‘Basic’ > ‘View/Draw’ - click OK.

I happen to have an older vectorworks version 2021. Will D5 work with your render app or do you have an older D5 availible (or if there are any updates or plugins that provide backward compatibility) for this version please?

Hi there,

Unfortunately, even if you downgrade to an earlier version of D5 (2.7), the live sync for Vectorworks will still start with the 2024 version. Thank you for your understanding.
