Hi,
looking for a solution to my project crash, I’d like to know if I can use my D5 license to finish my project on a virtual machine, remotely?
I’m thinking of sending it to Irender, but how do I install D5?
thanks for your help

will my actual pro license be ok on the distant machine?
Hi there,
I apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused. Would you mind sharing some details about the project crash you are currently experiencing? Such as the following
System Information
VRAM
Speed
If this issue only persists in specific projects (heavy files), we recommend optimizing the assets being used. This can be achieved through hiding assets that are not visible in some scenes. Additionally, if you cannot open such a file, you can delete the f2 folder containing the pak files then try to open the file again.
I hid the two big scatters, deleted the brush records and my vram remains 98 percent full.
Hi there,
Thank you for sending these images. Were they opened simultaneously with your current D5 Project File? I recommend opening them concurrently to observe real-time statistics. Additionally, try hiding all elements first, then unhide them in the specific scenes where they are needed. It might be helpful to group elements according to the scenes they belong to.
Have you tried deleting the pak files to see if this alleviates the issue you’re experiencing? Please let me know if this helps.
Thank you.
Thanks Clovis,
I couldn’t really test performance because the software was closing…
but yes, I was able to recover my project by deleting the F2 folder.
but my machine isn’t good enough.
I’m about to buy a Msi laptop :
PC portable gamer, 17", IPS, 2560 x 1600 (QHD+), 16:10, 240 Hz, Core Ultra 9 185H, RTX 4070, RAM 32 Go,
Do you think it will be enouth for quite large projects?
Hi there,
Could you please provide details on the size of the project you were working with? I am currently using an ROG Zephyrus G15 with an RTX 3070 and a Ryzen 9 processor, and I recently upgraded my RAM to 40 GB. Despite this, I have encountered lag and crashes when opening large files from other users, typically those over 5 GB, especially if the assets are not well-organized. Even with 40 GB of RAM, I have not yet reached the “recommended” level according to D5’s benchmark.
Also, I assume you have done your research regarding the Laptop Model you are about to buy and its Pros and Cons? Or Gaming Laptops in general since a PC with the same specs as the laptop you are planning to buy will be relatively powerful, but in return, Laptops are portable and can be brought everywhere so if you value portability, go for it~
It is also important to take note that, no matter which specification your device belongs it is very essential to organize assets and optimize the file you are working with.
the folder in which my .drs file is located is 6.45 GB
Hello,
Finally, with the new laptop, the project supports large areas of scatter and assets.
The render time is impressive, as I didn’t use the laptop mentioned above, but a laptop with the rtx 4090 graphics card, which is considerably more expensive.
