I am a D5 user in Windows os.
But I’m also a Mac user interested in using your software for my rendering projects.
I understand that D5 Render is currently only available for Windows systems, but I would like to know if there are any updates regarding a possible macOS version in the future.
Specifically, I would like to know if you are actively working on developing a Mac version, and if so, whether you have an expected release date or a tentative roadmap.
Additionally, I would like to know if you are considering alternative solutions for Mac users, such as compatibility with cloud services or virtualization technologies that work properly on newer Macs with Apple Silicon chips (M1, M2, M3, M4 etc.).
Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to your response.
At this time, we do not support Apple operating systems. However, we’re aware of the interest in macOS compatibility and are keeping a close eye on its development. While we can’t make any promises at this stage, it’s something we may explore in the future.
Additionally, running D5 Render through Parallels on a Mac is not officially supported, and we cannot guarantee optimal performance or stability. Theoretically, it should function as long as Task Manager recognizes a GPU that meets our minimum requirements. While you are welcome to try it, we advise caution, as we haven’t thoroughly tested this configuration and cannot provide support for issues that may arise. Thank you for your understanding.
Hi @martinstefanek24 Please note that Mac OS is not yet supported. We’ll share updates regarding this workflow once there is any development. Thank you
I’m also a Mac user. When I run it through Crossover, it actually launches, but then it force-quits because it detects an unsupported GPU. Does anyone know a way to bypass this auto-check?
Of course, the ideal solution would be for the dev team to release a native Mac version—it’d be awesome! Macs are really powerful nowadays.
We don’t really recommend such a workflow as it may lead to further complications, and we cannot fully help or assist you with its troubleshooting since D5 has yet to support Mac.
From what I have heard (not sure), Crossover, will have you install an equivalent GPU for your Mac Device, right? If so, D5’s minimum requirement for GPU is RTX 1060; anything below will not be supported.
