Hello,
I’m completely stuck, I’ve probably added too many objects to my project and D5 is down and closes at the end of loading.
I can’t see a solution, but I’m thinking that maybe I could put my scatters on a separate layer (which I was planning to do before the crash).
Last night I was still able to launch the renderings, even though it was very difficult to navigate through the project.
This morning I added a few more objects, but I’d probably reached the limit.
Anyway, I don’t know, but I’d like to know if anyone on the D5 staff could open my project and correct it?
Create layers where I could hide the heavy elements and only reveal them in the scenes where they appear?
Thanks for your help
My PC specs:
Intel(R) Core™ i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz, 2904 MHz, 8 cœur(s), 16 processeur(s) logique(s)
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
64,0 Go Ram
When adding too many objects to the project but not managing them tightly by layers, D5 will crash if the computer configuration is not strong enough, I think I will need to wait for Admin to help open the file and split the layers for you. My computer configuration probably can’t help, they are quite weak and I have to split the layers a lot to avoid crashing in my project.
I’ve installed the maximum amount of ram (64 GB) on this PC, but I don’t know what’s causing the crash, whether it’s the processor or the graphics card.
I can upgrade the graphics card, but if it’s my processor, I’ll have to buy another computer… and this one is new and sufficient for most projects.
But this project is huge
I apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused. You can actually delete the pak files (f2 folder) which will then enable you to open the file, but please note that the assets should be updated after you have hidden or grouped them. Thank you.
thanks, great.
Before udating assets I’d like to hide a rather heavy brush history, but I don’t know how to find it? Is it on a list?
Would there be any point in unchecking “super resolution” to continue working? I’m already in “smooth” mode
The Super Resolution and FPS Booster for complex geometry should help in making your scene files smoother hence, I don’t really recommend turning them off unless some visual problems are caused by these features.
The Brush Records can also be seen under Inspector > Brush Records > Brush History
