D5 Crashes while modelling the terrain

Hello all,

For the first time D5 started crushing after the Version 2.9 update while modelling the terrain. I wanted to ask if anyone faced the same issue and managed to fix it? At this moment for me it is impossible to arrange the terrain within D5 unlike before.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there; I apologize for the inconvenience. Does this issue persist even with smaller files? How about for other project files? Is this evident? Or is it file-specific?

Can you also send us the following information? (Please open your d5 files while running the task manager)

Thank you.

Hello,
Actually the file I am working with is a Rhino file of 8 mb with small amount of surfaces. What I am trying to do is to build the entire context in D5 (the mountain surrounding the villa). So the file D5 in the beginning& while I am having a problem contains nothing but its own terrain inside.

Now I send you requested screenshots when I export the house and the terrain (since I could not do the terrain in D5 I modeled in rhino) in D5. Thank you!

Hi there, thank you for sending these images. Does the crashing persist even with empty D5 Render Files? It would generally be an issue with your PC environment if it does. Otherwise, scene files may need to be optimized. I suggest doing the following and see if there are any differences:

Let me know if this helps, thank you.

I have tried both options, separately and together, but unfortunately, I do not seem to be finding a solution. At this point, I will continue modeling everything in Rhino, including the terrain.

Hi there,

I’m sorry to hear that. Can you perhaps provide us with a video recording of the issue and the steps you’ve taken to arrive at that point so we can try to replicate this issue and assess it further? Otherwise, if we cannot replicate it, we may need to collect your Rhino File and D5 Scene File for testing.

  • Which Rhino Version are you using?
  • Which D5 Plugin are you using? And what version?
