Curtains should be semi-transparent

I would like the curtains in the picture to be semi-transparent.
I want some light to shine through,
so that a slight shadow is created on the floor.

How can I do this?

i normally use the transparant slider to make it more feel like a curtain

I have now found an acceptable solution.

With the “Affected by Light” function and some trial and error, I had it.
