Crashing on reloading sketchup or .d5a files

I’m using 3.1.0.0746. and having frequent crashing when reloading updating model files from sketchup, and even exported .d5a files. although those models are not huge. It has never happened even at version 3.0.
I’ve attached my System Info below.

Hi @newtoncore3

Does this issue only occur with specific SKP Model files? Can you send us some of these files so we can test it on our end?

Hi Clov,

I’ve sent you google drive link to download our project files.

We’ve noticed that it will happened more easily, when the files are getting worked out. Like when we did some quick render check like after pressing F4 and adding on some assets, then it will crash when doing reload on any skp. or .d5a files.

Hi @newtoncore3

Where did you send it? Please generate a link and send it to me privately here in the forum. I cannot track it easily if you send it via email. Thanks

Hi @newtoncore3

I just tested your file with the 3.1 Hotfix Version. For reference, these are my device specs:

  • RTX 5060 Ti
  • 32 GB RAM
  • NVIDIA Driver 610.74
  • Ryzen 9 9900X
  • D5 Render 3.1.1.0755

1. Opening the 2 model files

  • I’ve tested opening an empty D5 file, then importing the D5A and SKP files, just to check if there are any issues with them. But so far I can open them with no issues.

2. Opening the D5 File

Below is my attachment as requested. I’m now in version 3.1.1.0755. Seems a lot more stable, but at times when work on for hours, and it may still crash out. Perhaps it is because of my GPU ram limitation.

I’ve yet to reinstall the GPU driver. Will try when free. Still rushing to finish up this work.

Hi @newtoncore3

3.1 Hotfix should be more stable compared to the first version of 3.1, so it should minimize crashing and unnecessary GPU overloads. Anyway, try installing it with the latest version specifically, GPU Version 610.74.
