Hello, it’s very rare, but today D5 render crashed. And I wasn’t using autosave and I’m going to enable it now; I lost 1h30 of work. Can I send you a crash log? I think it might help this program progress. It was a scene with no vegetation, fairly light . So I wasn’t suspicious. Too bad. Fortunately it was a personal work, but I’m very disappointed and don’t have the courage to start again, in any case I’m moving on to something else
The irony of this story is that I was trying to convert a trainee whose trainers force Enscape on the students.
You mentioned that the autosave was enabled and was set to every 10 minutes. Were you able to access the file version history? I recommend setting it to 5 minutes
Crashing on smaller files should not happen unless the device used has a lower specification + a lower VRAM.
Thanks, that’s perfect: by choosing View History Version, I found my updated file!
But I don’t understand why D5 didn’t open the saved version after the crash…
I’m guessing the file crashed before it was going to save again, since the autosave feature was set to 10 minutes.
Hmm, D5 should be able to resync with your SketchUp project once the D5 file has been recovered, and any information should be retained based on the last saved file. Does this not normally occur, since it is surprising?
The D5 file changed its name on its own? After you have reopened the previous file version?
After opening the backup, I was asked to save the file, I couldn’t save it in the original folder, and I had to rename it. I was surprised that Sketchup synchronized immediately with the correct file… which had a different name and was saved in a different folder…
Based on the image you have sent, I don’t think crashing should occur since it is using 10.3/12GB of your VRAM. Usually, if the VRAM is near maxing out, it is usually displayed near 12GB (around 11.4 to 11.6 GB). Unless the version that crashed may have maxed out this portion, which has caused the crash. If you are still experiencing frequent crash for this specific file, let us know; we may need to collect the D5 File.
If you have opened your D5 File first then your SKP File then activated the live-sync, it should restore the linkage, but may ask for your permission to either create a new link or replace an existing one.
Since you’re still using drivers from February 02, 2025, I suggest updating them to a more updated version.
