Hi Oliver,
I hope that you are keeping well. I am really excited to see the new version of D5 when it is released later this week :). Working in D5 is a real pleasure.
Please could you advise on this issue that I am experiencing. I have an RTX3090 graphics card and have been experiencing some coil whine when rendering images for the past couple of months. Are there any settings within D5 that can be adjusted to prevent this from happening, or do you have any suggestions to stop this from happening?
Many thanks.
Monique
Hi mate, I think it is normal because when the GPU is running at 100%, the voice of the GPU and fans will be loud… If you want it to be less loud, you can turn off some fans manually, but it is not suggested.
If you have GPU overclocked, you can turn it off as well.
To confirm, does the problem happen only when you use headset?

Many thanks for getting back to me on this. I don’t use a headset when I work . I just hear the coil whine when I render a lot of images. It only happens occasionally, not all the time, so I guess that it is something I will just need to get used to.
Kind regards
Monique
Hi mate, yes, if it happens occasionally, then I think it is not a wiring or hardware problem. Maybe it means your GPU is running at 100%, or multiple fans are working at high speed.
Dont worry.
Coil whine occurs due to the electricity running through your devices. It is something related to electricyty and magnetism.
Sometimes happens on power supplies, graphic cards…
Nothing related to fans or something like that.
Many thanks. That is reassuring
