Changing the aspect ratio of videos

Hey,

I’ve rendered videos in a 9:16 aspect ratio before without any issues — but for some reason, I can’t get it to work now.

I’ve already enabled Advanced Camera Tools in Preferences.
I even set up a 9:16 camera, created a new clip, and added the current view to make a new shot.

But what happens is: it takes the 9:16 view and saves it as a standard aspect ratio, with no option to change it.

I’ve been stuck on this for four days now and seriously feel like I’m losing my mind.

Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi @mh.3d.visualizations

I apologize for the inconvenience. I think it might be best for you to record a video of the process.

I have also recorded my process in using a 9:16 aspect ratio and saving it as a new scene. Please check this link: Video Process

Hi,

Here’s a video I just captured trying to figure it out.

I guess to clarify, I have a video already set up in the standard aspect ratio. But I need to change the aspect ratio, rather than just completely redoing the video setup from scratch with a new camera.

I know that I can do this, as i’ve done it on two other projects already.

But I don’t remember how I did it. I do remember it giving me trouble though.

Hi @mh.3d.visualizations

Thanks for providing the video. Upon review, isn’t this the option that you were trying to find?

  • You can click Clip 1, then the aspect ratio will appear. Currently, the aspect ratio changes will be applied to all of the shots inside the Clip. You can check the video recording - VideoTest aspect ratio

That was it!

I knew it was something simple that I was missing

I guess it makes more sense to be on the whole clip rather than individual shots

Thank you

Hi @mh.3d.visualizations
