I have been working on this render for a couple of days. I made a Rhino model of a museum in a city and have meticulously divided the rhino model into layers with different materials.
Today I openend my Model in D5 and synched with Rhino, but I am not able to select individual “layers” (Rhino) in D5 anymore to modify their textures. When picking a Material I am able to apply it to the desired Groups, but I am not able to select that group later to modeify their material properties.
What I have tried:
Locked and Unlocked the Layer of the model (It selects the entire Rhino model, even though I have dozens of layers in Rhino)
Listen, since the structure is pretty big, I’ll just tell you. All programs have more or less the same functions, such as wall layer, or slab layer, so to speak. When I use one of these layers it has already preset its material, for example the wall has a white paint texture, I only change the texture but not the layer, this is because, D5 recognizes the material which has a texture and a name, such as Off-White Paint, which has a color and image of that paint.
To improve and give an effect to this painting, I select the wall in D5 which on the right shows the material drop-down menu with its name, i.e. Off-White Paint. If you are unable to select the material perhaps you loaded it as an object, in this case you have to use the dropper at the top left, where there is also selection and scaling. Then check that your project is in the drop-down menu on the left, you must open the bolt to select the individual parts, if you have not done so, select the entire project.
When you load the project on the string on the left where you gave the name to the project, next to the project name there is the layer and the bolt, check that it is open
