hi, i created this basic scene it is just a plane in sketchup with 2 material grass and paving stones, i added some d5 trees, d5 fog and the d5 grass template, and everithing is fine in image rendering and also at the work space but when i try to render a video d5 just freezes and the render time star to increases from 1h to 2, to 3, to 4 and so on.
my pc specs : ryzen 3700x, ssd, rtx 2060 6gb, ram 16gb ddr4
also y forgot to mention that when i switch the grass template to a normal material the rendering time goes to 25-30 minutes
Hi! There are many trees and grass in your scene. We guess that this issue is related to your RAM, which is insufficient for applying grass material.
To confirm with you, is the grass material for a large area of grassland? Did this issue happen to just this project or all other projects?
To check if this issue relates to RAM, you can firstly try opening an empty scene, use the plane in Library, shown as below and then apply the grass material to this plane and check if this issue happens again:
HI, i also think the ram might be the problem here
-
yes this also happened to me in another project that had a similar size to this one,
-
i created the plane with similar size to the proyect that i was working 300x350 meters and only applied the gras material and them try to render a video in 2k the result was the same or worse the estimated time never apeared and it stayed in: calculating for like 15minutes until i canceled it.

if the problem is the ram, how much do you guys recommend me to have to handle scene like this one, and also could the vram be a part of the problem it is only 6gb on a rtx 2060
It is recommended to upgrade your RAM to 32 GB. And for reference, here is the link to the benchmark results submitted by our users: https://benchmark.d5render.com/result.
