Can not achieve diffuse/glass material as in Vray

Hi Team - perhaps this is easily resolved? Currently working on live project and we are is early discussions with planners. The render style we are choosing is very much a sketch style approached to gently communicate our intend. It is a exiting building with some new additions on top. This is one part of a series of buildings.

Please see attached D5 produced image and Vray produced. We like the Vray glass much more then the D5. But I would like to get D5 to match so I can us D5 more. Because it is faster.

Thank you.

Hi WB5
to have the effect of the second image You posted the Vray one, you can use the effect in D5 Outline mode, if I understood the dilemma how to do it in d5, I’ll give you an example:

in normal rendering and so

Instead this is done with the Outline effect:

Anyway you can have fun, I hope I understood the problem, and I helped your group if it’s not like that, see you next time
Riccardo

Sorry I didn’t post a video explaining how to best use it, anyway this is the video:

Thank you Riccardo - I will review and hopefully achieve the look I want as the Vray glass material. The outline function in D5 I’m aware of. It is just the glass issue that seems to pop up evetime in some of my projects.

Hi WB5
Maybe it’s a matter of the environment or the horizon or the external light. Since Vray sometimes uses different contours automatically, maybe you have to find, to take advantage, a project with glass with those environmental characteristics in Exspess and merge your project, so it will be quick to give those characteristics, it is not only also the already set environment . Try this way. I know, elaborate, but I usually do it this way with my projects, also because, knowing that the renders I make are faster to re-realize.
I hope you like the suggested idea :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face:
