Background image on arc

Hello Technicians

The arc is a great way to be used as a background for certain interior rendering. However, I coundnt find an option to toggle off its interaction with lights. I dont want it block sunlight coming into rooms. In result I am getting unnaturally dark image for amount sunlight else where. Is there an option for that?

Hi @tony

Select the curved material and check “invisible in raytracing” in the parameters panel to give it a try

Hey Chan Lee

it didnt work as what I intended. the background image still blocks sunlight

I just did an experiment with basic model arc from d5 engine, it worked fine as u said. My problem was that the arc is actually model from sketchup, so even with invisible for ray tracing being toggled off it still didnt change anything.

I wonder if this is a thing that model from skethup will always block sunlight

Oh! I’m sorry, I only know that this model is coming to SU now, you can save this model as a SU file separately, and then import it into D5.And than, check “invisible in raytracing”。

The simple arc of SU is divided into two sides, one front and one tail. You aim the opposite side indoors and the front side at the artificial light source or sunlight outside. After that, set the arc on the reverse side as the exterior map, and the front model is glass, so you can give it a try. Hope it helps.

Thx, I will give it a try
