Hello everyone,
I created an animation from a model I am working on.
I want to mix this animation, which I created in D5, with real footage captured by drone from the real neighbor. I am not sure if this is even possible in Adobe Premier Pro or After Effect.
I am using Premiere Pro for merging videos and setting transitions only, so technically I am noobie noobie on the software.
As you can see in the upper images, the first one is a screenshot of my 3d animation and the next one is a drone video from the neighbor.
I want to swap red-noted parts in a way that my final video shows the balcony from 3d animation and the background from the drone footage (instead of white cubes)
Note that both files are moving shots and not a fixed camera.
If this kind of task is possible in Adobe Premiere. Or even in AE.
Two files merged for reference here
P.S: This is not related to D5 but since D5 videos are turning great it is good to find a solution to collaborate with other software to get extraordinary outcomes
Thanks!
Nima
Hi, if you have made a video with the drone that gives you that overview, the question you asked is a lot of work and an arduous undertaking on my part.
There is another way to simplify the problem, create a 360° from the position of the balcony, that is, a panoramic view, but this is used in rendering a still image, or make sure you take the single frame that your video gives you and pizzaze it in that place with a green tarpaulin, like they do with special effects films. In this case you have to see a tutorial if you don’t know how to do it.
There is another method you can take that piece of the City with Renderdoc with Google Map, load it into blender with the appropriate renderdoc Addons which imports it and then export it to OBJ and load it into your project files in D5 so you will have the background you wanted and the video. But you should also know that there is this other little program that is used in Blender which is an Addons called BLOSM.
I’ll give you some references in the video, watch them, it may give you the idea of solving this question of yours without using the drone video.

Hi there,
Are you looking for a similar output to the one in this video? Merge an Architectural CGI model into Aerial. I’m not entirely sure which software they used in this video, but it’s certainly possible in AfterEffects. However, keep in mind that the process is complex and might take time for a beginner to learn.
As @riccardofortelli mentioned, it might also be possible using Blender. You can refer to this link to see if it matches your needs: How to Merge 3D Models into Aerial Video Footage.
Thank you.

Thank you, Riccardo. I use this Blender method. It looks very nice, and I think I can remodel some of the exports, making it easier for me.

Thank you @clovisbolasco14 , I will check your suggestions too,
So nice to have you people around.
Hi Nima, thanks for your appreciation, I have to tell you a few things. If you will use Renderdoc, know that blender with this import addons only works in English, so don’t change the blender language, then in the features of the render doc addons you have to activate API, because if you don’t activate it it won’t work.
That’s all. Good work

Hi, really cool project! What you’re trying to do is possible, and After Effects is probably the better tool for it over Premiere Pro.
You can mask the balcony from your D5 animation and use motion tracking to sync it with the drone footage. If the background behind the balcony is simple, chroma key might work to remove it. Otherwise, you’ll need to try rotoscoping.
After that, you can tweak the colors and lighting to make the D5 animation and drone footage fit together better. Premiere is great for basic edits, but AE is better for combining moving shots like this.

Thank you, Hunter,
Your recommendation needs a good knowledge base with these software and right now I cannot meet the deadline in time so I am trying Blender and Blosm I think.
However, you mentioned lots of features that I love to learn, and definitely try to play around with those Asap.
Thanks again.
