Hi,
Few hours ago I work on D5, in the middle of rendering the electric down but my PC still work because of UPS. So I save the file, close the program and shutdown the PC.
Now I open the program, and all works on recent project was gone. I tried to open the file from folder, and it open like new project. I spent a week for this project, and facing the deadline. Also there are another on going project which is gone on recent project. Please help me
Hello, is your hard disc close to full, or did you save the files in a network place? Please make a copy and compress the scene file folder first, then send it to ziyin.zhu@d5techs.com directly, we will check whether we can recover the file.
If it is not convenient to send the file, please open a folder called “assets” in that scene file folder, then open the 1.save file using textbook. Is it empty?
Also, you could check the 1.save.tmp, and 1.save.tmp.tmp, which are back up files. If any one of them is not empty, please try rename it to “1.save” to replace the origin one. Then you could open the file again and see the result.
Hi Oliver
I saved in hard disc and its far from full.
I don’t get it about “open the file using textbook”, do you means its open with wordpad or notepad?
Hi Faisol, all of the three files are empty like the screenshot you posted? I am afraid that we are not able to recover the file since the 1.save file is broken. Did you once save a backup file?
In the coming 2.1 version, we will have auto-save function to prevent this problem from happening We feel sorry for the issue that happened to you.
Yes, all 3 empty and each size 3mb.
Oh my God, there is no backup file. All saved in D where the file project located. And I don’t know if the original file will affected if the program crashed (And also mine not crashed or interrupted while the power down).
How if I send the file folder compressed (to ziyin.zhu@d5techs.com)? Is there any guarantee the file will recover?
Hi Faisol, sorry we are not able to recover the file when the 1.save file has been broken. But you can send me two logs folders then we can check why that issue happened on your computer, I think it should be mainly because of unsuccessful saving process of UE engine, and we need logs to investigate this problem. Two folders that contain logs:
A folder called logs, in the installation directory of D5 2.0
A folder called Saved, in C:/Users/your account/AppData/local/d5_immerse
I would kindly suggest you save a backup file when doing the project again. Or if you want to try 2.1 beta version which has auto save feature, with 3 backup files saved, please let me know
Have you opened this project? it is empty? From the image I think the 1.save file is not broken, and the scene file should open with no problem.
If this one cannot open, please compress the whole scene file folder and send to ziyin.zhu@d5techs.com, we will help you check this scene file.
hi, the logs folder is right, but the d5_immerse folder is not, we need that in another place, please check the file path I sent above.
Glad to hear that the second file can be opened with no problem, please remember to back up it first. About the first file, we are not able to recover it, because the 1.save file is broken…
Hi Oliver sorry just replied to your message, I was in a hurry to rebuild the work.
I’ll take your suggestions for backing up for my next work, and thanks for your quick response!
Hi Faisol, never mind, we can understand your feeling, and sorry for the inconvenience caused by that problem. We will probably release 2.1 next week, and that issue will be prevented from then.
