Add Indian Origin Trees ,Plants and People to Asset Library

Feature Request: Expand Asset Library with Indian Origin Trees & Plants

Dear D5 Render Team and Community,

I would like to request the addition of more diverse trees and plant species native to India and the South Asian region into the D5 asset library.

Currently, while the existing library is excellent, it often lacks the specific flora required to accurately represent landscapes and architectural projects in India. This means designers frequently have to compromise on realism or spend extra time importing external models.

Having a dedicated collection of Indian origin plants would significantly enhance the ability of users working on projects in this region to create more authentic and immersive visualizations.

Here are some examples of trees and plants that would be incredibly valuable:

Trees:

  • Neem (Azadirachta indica): A very common and culturally significant tree.
  • Banyan (Ficus benghalensis): Iconic, large tree with aerial roots.
  • Peepal (Ficus religiosa): Another culturally important fig tree.
  • Mango (Mangifera indica): Essential for representing rural and urban Indian landscapes.
  • Tamarind (Tamarindus indica): Common roadside and garden tree.
  • Ashok (Saraca asoca): Often used in landscaping for its beautiful flowers.
  • Teak (Tectona grandis): Important timber tree, also seen in plantations.

Shrubs/Flowering Plants:

  • Hibiscus (Gudhal): Very common flowering shrub.
  • Bougainvillea: Widespread ornamental plant.
  • Jasmine (Chameli): Fragrant shrub, culturally significant.
  • Marigold (Genda): Popular ornamental and ceremonial flower.
  • Lotus (Kamal): India’s national flower, crucial for water features.
  • Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum): Sacred basil, commonly found in homes.

I believe this addition would be highly appreciated by the growing D5 user base in India and other parts of Asia, allowing for more accurate and culturally resonant renderings.

Thank you for your time and consideration!
