[610.47] D5 Crashes On Saves

Hi, For some reason D5 has started crashing when I save. Not always but approximately on every 3rd to 4th save. Also noticed that parts of models are missing and I have to re-import.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

George

Hi @gneocleous

Just to clarify,

  • Does it crash after you Save-As or just Save?
  • Does this happen to all of your D5 files or just specific ones?

Since it occurs approximately in your 3rd or 4th save, this may be a different case from the known issue where, every time some users “save-as” their file, it automatically crashes. But just to be sure, can you please send us a video recording showing the issue on your end?

Additionally, please send us the following:

As for the parts of the model missing, I assume these parts are from d5a export or a supported 3d model file.

  • May I know where these files are located?

Generally, we highly recommend that users place the D5 file, along with their 3D files, imported models, etc., on their local C or D drive. Since this issue occurs when these files are placed in their Cloud Storage or Shared Network Path.

Hi, Thanks for the reply, I have attached the screen shots requested. I haven’t had a crash issue yet but will send when I do as I have not used D5 yet today.

The models are not missing, it’s parts of the imported model, but once I re-import they are fine. I feel these issues are related to Graphics card driver updates from Nvidia as I have never had these issues in all the years I’ve been using D5 pro.

Regards,

George

Hi @gneocleous

Thanks for sharing these images. Can you please confirm the questions that I have asked in my previous reply?

Additionally, we received many reports of crashes, and the common configuration is the latest NVIDIA Driver 610.47. Can you please generate a log file for us? You may send it to me privately here in the Forum.

  • After generating the log files, you can try to revert to NVIDIA’s previous version.

Hi Clov,

I’ve had to crashes already this morning, one when I save (CTRL-S) and then one for no reason, D5 just shut down.

I will send you the Log Files privately

Thanks,

George
