Hello pls why everytime i re-sync my synced 3ds max model with 3ds max sync update button it take about 5gb of my ssd memory??
Hi @samo.kosnac
Re-syncing can increase storage usage, especially if the file is heavy or if significant changes are being updated. However, I would like to clarify a few points to better understand what is happening on your end.
- Are you certain that you are re-syncing the existing file and not accidentally creating a new sync file each time? If possible, could you please provide a short screen recording showing your sync workflow from 3ds Max to D5?
Additionally, considering the number of times this file has been re-synced:
- How large is the file now?
- Does the storage increase occur within the D5 project file itself, or in the associated project folder? It is possible that assets or textures are being duplicated and accumulating.
To help isolate the issue, please also let us know:
- Does this happen only with this specific file, or with other projects as well?
- Is this the first time you’ve noticed this behavior, or has it always been like this?
- What is the approximate file size of the model you are working on?
- Are you experiencing any additional issues, such as lagging, freezing, or VRAM spikes?
Thank you, and I look forward to your response. ![]()
Hello,
I’d like to describe my sync workflow and an issue I’m experiencing.
My workflow is:
I first open D5 Render and 3ds Max, then I connect them using the Start button in the D5 plugin (the button with the play/diagram icon). After that, when I make changes in 3ds Max, I use the Sync button.
Even when I have around 70 GB of free disk space, after connecting D5 and doing sync (for example syncing 2 times), my free space drops to about 10 GB. Sometimes I even get an error saying that I cannot save because there is not enough storage space.
For reference, the 3ds Max scene file size is about 1.5 GB.
The D5 file has 4,18 GB,
I think it happened earlier with other files
