3D Tour - VR Distortion

Hello,

I have been playing with the 3D tour functionality for use in VR. An issue I am experiencing is with alignment of geometry in the view. Is there a setting I can change to reduce or eliminate this? I have uploaded an example of the sort of thing that I commonly see while using VR in the 3D tour.

Thanks

Hi @corkey

I apologize for the inconvenience. Does this particular issue only occur with this specific file? Does updating your drivers or your VR Drivers (if there is) improve the distortion?

Note: We will be optimizing VR or 3D Tour in subsequent releases.

Hi @Clov

I noticed that I had sky movement on. I disabled it and re uploaded the outdoor scenes. This helped a little but didn’t fix it. Some of the glitches were far worse than my screenshot.

So I tried starting again. I re rendered and uploaded all the images with the sky movement off and it has fixed the issue. There are some minor misalignments on the occasional door frame but I can live with that.

Hi @corkey

Thank you for sharing how you were able to fix the issue. Our team would like to test this issue. We would like to collect the D5 File and your log files for this, You may send them to support@d5techs.com and have it titled ‘Clov Forum-3d Tour VR Distortion

Ok. Thanks. Once I get some time I will do that. Also worth noting that while using VR in tour mode you have to stand in the perfect position otherwise objects distort. This also happens on your sample project on your website.

Sorry also need to note. When trying to render my tour with my amd 9070xt the file just crashes. I then get a crash dialogue from my amd driver. The only way I can render the tour is using my 4080 laptop.

Hi @corkey

Alright, thanks for the update. Regarding the other problem with your 9070 XT Device unable to render the file, have you tried updating your Graphics Card Driver?

  • Anyway, I recommend making another forum topic about it so users can see it immediately.
