Turn off Section Planes

Hi,
I’m setting up project scenes and some of the scenes does need to use section planes, my problem is that, for each section plane added there is the need to turn it off in every scene view and I could not figure out a way to turn off in multiple scenes at once.

Is there a way to do so?

If not it is a good suggest to improve workflow.

Hi @alexandrecollaco

Currently, section planes appear in all of the scenes; hence, it is better to put them in a different layer to turn them off simultaneously. We will optimize this in subsequent releases. Thank you.

Ok,

Also, I’m having trouble setting up scene parameters.
For example: I have 16 scenes and they will vary Fov, effects, sometimes hide objects, render resolution.

Is there a way to set this parameters by bundle? Because right now I need to set them one by one. Really tedious, time consuming and prone to error.

It would be interesting to have a scene manager or an apply to selected scenes.

Hi @alexandrecollaco

For environment and effect parameters, if you wish to apply the changes to all of your scenes, please enable “Apply to All”

Thanks, this partially solves the problem.

When you turn on “apply to all” it will make every scene the same, but I want to have a section plane only in some views.
The workaround is: Turn on “apply to all” > Turn off all clipping planes one by one > click “update scene” for every scene > Turn off “apply to all” > Turn on the clipping plane only for the scenes you want and update these scenes.

It works but is quite time consuming. It would be easier: Turn off all clipping at once for all scenes > Go to each scene and turn on a clipping plane and update when needed.

The “apply to all” is not really an “apply to all” since it will not apply your changes to all but will make all scenes the same, ignoring previous differences and if you turn off without updating each scene it will go back to the setup before checking the “apply to all”.
In my opinion, an apply to all would be like: You have your scene with different setups between them but you want to change one specific parameter to all the scenes, making this parameter equal. Then, you turn on “apply to all” make the change, turn off “apply to all” without the need to updade the scenes. Simple and easy.

Hi @alexandrecollaco

This is usually applied to the Environment and Effect parameters only.
