The reflection of light on the object that should not be in the mirror

  • I want to use the reflection-visible feature of spotlights, but I don’t want to see this effect on some materials. For example, a round object appears as a reflection in a mirror (it is visible on reflection), and I don’t want to see it only for the mirror material. Because this is a bad image that should not be in a mirror. How can I ensure that I do not see in the mirror material without turning off the visible in reflection feature? I think there is no material feature for this. If there is none, it will be good to add such a feature to the properties of such material.

@Oliver.J Hello Oliver, Does the D5 team know that there is such a problem ? If he knows, will they bring a feature about it, is it in your plan ?

Hello Furkan, yes, I have shared this problem with our team, once we have updates, I will let you know here.
For now, I have a workaround, you can turn off the Visible in reflection option, then use more small light objects to simulate the reflection of the spotlight on other materials.

@Oliver.J Yes, if I turn off this feature, I won’t see the spotlight reflection in the mirror, but if I turn it off, I won’t be able to see it in places where I want to see the effect of light, such as leather, ceramics, etc. Because this affects realism. In the next updates, it would be nice to have a simple add-on such as the ability to reflect light sources from the mirror’s material property panel in this topic.

Thank you Oliver for your answer!
