Sketchup model already with materials or D5 materials

Hi, a complete newbie here, for D5. I have been using Sketchup for a few years but decided to try for more photo-realistic-looking renders. So, I have some models built that use materials from Sketchup or other places, everything is essentially ready for a render. I understand how to import them into D5 and do the render. My question concerns whether it is better to put materials (with all the maps) on the Sketchup model and then import into D5, or whether it makes a difference if the Sketchup model has no materials and they are added in D5? The tutorials generally show a non-material Sketchup model, and all the materials are added in D5. Is there a reason for this workflow?

hi, from my perspective, if you are used to handling SKP models very well (e.g., having a rich/familiar material library), you can use the Livesync/Llite plugin to synchronize the SKP model to Render.
If the SKP model is relatively simple to build, or you feel that digital assets (materials, background models, etc.) in the Render are more suitable for embedding into your workflow, you can directly sync the white SKP model to the Render.
