Save increment

Hi ,
i d like to know to save projet with increment.d5 save everything and all the folder become very heavy! Can i juste save the d5 file and not all the folder when i make increment of my project please?

Hi @neoseb

Currently, D5 creates a folder for each file and deleting the other components inside will make the file malfunction, so I don’t recommend doing it.

Do you know how can i suppress model i try but i dont want to use finally ?Show me the place please or the technics to supress model?

I’m not sure if I understood you correctly, but do you perhaps mean that you wish to delete or remove models that are not used in your file?

If so, which models are you talking about?

  • Imported Models?
  • D5 Asset Models?

Yesterday,i didnt increment my d5 file.And after impossible to open it…i lost all my morning work…I was really disappointed of the instability of d5…sorry but in the time speed i come back in my old software…I think my graphic card is not the best but really surprised about that…or when i compact my save file but i dont know…one day i could send you the folder but with confidentiality please…I think i will use D5 only for my futur animation for the moment…I m sad because i love a lot community et the software…

I apologize for the inconvenience. I assume the need for you to optimize the file is due to it being too laggy and heavy, perhaps because of the great number of assets that were used.

May I know your system information?

  • VRAM / GPU Info. - Please open your D5 file while accessing this portion. If your GPU Memory is around 8GB to 16 GB, and you are working with a large file with a lot of assets, then it might be best to optimize your file or upgrade if possible. File Optimization is hiding assets that are not seen in certain scenes, disabling PT, etc.

Hi @neoseb

Can you share to us the system information of the other device and your laptop? You may refer to the screenshots that I have provided above.

  • If there is a significant gap between these two devices, then that is indeed abnormal, considering that the file can’t be opened on a powerful device and can be accessed using a less powerful one. You may want to consider updating your Graphics Card Version to a newer version and see if there are any differences.

Can you check your Computer’s Task Manager, specifically this portion and try to open your D5 file or perhaps a Demo Scene file?
