Road Test

Finally honed down a process for creating quads on a roadway surface on terrain in Sketchup. It mostly involved Vertex Tools, Fredo’s Curviloft and Thrupaint. The terrain is just a random surface I created with SU’s native tools and Smoove. It’s a variation on what I learned from a video by 3D Artistree on Youtube.

good job, my i know how u texture road, is it unwrap modifier applied.

I used Fredo Thrupaint “Paint Faces” on the quads created with Fredo Curviloft. You can use any Sketchup tile material as long as it’s oriented correctly which you can change in D5.

Worked on the landscaping more. Not exactly botanically correct but that’s fine. Add an overlay layer in Photoshop at 22 percent. Also added a road crown of approximately 6 inches which was easy to do with Vertex Tools.
