Hi,
Can anyone share examples of D5 being used to render wood-framed (also called timber frame and sometimes mass timber) prefab buildings? As an organic material, wood is often challenging to render realistically, especially when so much wood is used in the frame, flooring, cabinets, etc. I searched this forum using “wood” and "timber"and I found some discussion but not as much as I hoped.
I am new to D5 but have decades of experience fabricating and building homes and commercial timber buildings in the U.S. Our most common work flows are Revit, Rhino, Sketchup, Archicad (from architects) and other design software to CAD/CAM/CNC software where we model all of the timber in extreme detail and accurately for manufacturing. We like the D5 examples in the gallery but are especially interested in wood framed bulidings in natural settings where we often construct our buildings (forests, ski resorts, river side and ocean side, etc.) All advice appreciated.
We manufacture in the state of Oregon and build structures in much of the U.S. and Canada.
I uploaded an image showing one of our structures. This is a wooden stage used for the TED talks.
I also uploaded and AI generated timber building in a natural setting as an example.
