Hello D5 Team,
I would like to request a feature that would allow rendering to be offloaded to another computer on the local network or via a dedicated render server.
Use Case: Many users work on powerful workstations during the day but would prefer to send final renders or animations to a separate PC for processing. This would allow them to continue working on their main machine without performance impacts while another computer handles the rendering tasks.
Benefits:
Keep the main workstation free for productive work.
Better utilization of existing hardware resources.
Faster workflows for teams with multiple PCs.
Possibility to build dedicated render nodes or render farms.
Reduced downtime while waiting for long image or animation renders.
Suggested Workflow:
Install a lightweight D5 Render Server/Agent on a secondary PC.
Connect the render server from within D5.
Send image or animation rendering jobs directly to the remote machine.
Receive the completed renders automatically back to the project folder.
This feature would be especially valuable for professional visualization studios and users who already have multiple computers available.
Thank you for considering this request. I believe remote rendering support would significantly improve productivity and workflow flexibility for many D5 users.
Best regards, Tom
