Optimize the favorite feature in the asset library

Before we will have even more models in the asset library in the future than we already have around 10,000 online models

It should be possible to put the individual models together as favorites in the various library categories,
or
maybe, a solution that you only load those online models that you need and so you build your own libraries and can always add them later.

Maybe someone knows a better solution.
But it can’t be that you need more time to browse and search in the asset library than to render.
3. Favorite folder for all library categories is not enough and can’t even be structured.

Many thanks in advance for your feedback.

Christmas wish 2025

Since November 2022 I have been asking and wishing with 17 voters for an option to “Optimize the favorite feature in the asset library”

With such an amazing library, there should be a solution after about 2 years.
A subdirectory like Local-Line would be really nice.

A better idea might be that all online favorites are sent directly to Local. This gives us a “fantastic advantage” would be an integration with our own library

I wish the D5 team and everyone a wonderful holiday season
and thank you for your great achievements over the years.

a gamechanger for me would be the ability to add custom tags to models and filter by them…

i wish to have a favorite function in your own local libary

We really need better asset handling in D5.

  1. Filter assets by Favourites and Downloaded.
For plants, also filter by region and size.
  2. Favourite from the scene — please add a favourite button to the object/material panel so we don’t have to hunt for the asset again in the library after it’s already placed.

This would massively speed up workflow. Thanks!

You literally have a Favourites tab where all your favouurite models and materials are placed.

And, if you wanna use some material or model you already placed you can simply use the material picker with the ‘I’ or de Shift + move to duplicate the model you want. You never ever need to search something you already placed in your scene.

Hope it helps.

Yes, but to my knowledge you can’t filter the items in your favourites.

For example, only see trees.

Also, it would be good when I am viewing the “flowering trees” to only see my favourites or only see trees from Africa or only see small trees for example.

Thanks for the workaround on the making favourites.
