Night stars and moon on sky

Hi,
Any way to have a night view with stars and moon, using simply geo and sky environment ?
When I use a night time, I only have a black sky, no stars or moon :frowning:
If not on the pipe it will be great to add this option on D5 render, like for example you can do very quickly on Enscape.
Thanks for your help

Hi Thiass
This is a proposal made by me a long time ago, TIM D5 took it into consideration saying that they will organize it in the future.
But in the meantime you have to use HDRI which is found on the sites on this topic

hi Riccardo,
I saw your previous post.
The HDRI with total night views are poor on the web.
I hope D5 will improve with basic settings allowing to work with it.
Thanks

You can do it with the luminous fireflies ‘this is an idea’ stop the movement, then I would take an object such as a moon and put it in the black luminous sky in my opinion it can have a nice effect

thanks for the tips
I also try with panoramic renders from Enscape, not the top but not bad to

This is done now

It takes a bit of inventiveness and making the most of the skills you have and never giving up, understanding how the program works and using the resources to the maximum

Thank you for your suggestion. I will convey your idea to our team. You can also give your idea in our forum. Latest Ideas & Requests topics - D5 RENDER FORUM

Very good idea.
I also thought that it would be necessary for the moon and stars to be part of the sky that the D5 Render automatically generates.
I’m trying to use HDRI night skies as backgrounds but they all over-light the scene.

Jep I just looked at Polyhaven and not much there …

Good morning Staff D5.
I noticed, I’ve been wanting to say this topic for a long time, on the possibility of having in the program, specifically in Sky, the night phase that does not light up with stars. If possible in the near future.

Thank you, we may need more time to develop this feature.

Hi Olivers
Thanks for the reply, I can say one more thing about hdri there is a need for dimensioning the dome of the HDRI, i.e. moving and scaling it in order to place the project in certain positions on the design site. In the past I had found it differently but with other hdri images it is impossible for me, it is no longer enough to rotate it.
PS: I noticed on YouTube that some people have been given version 2.4.1, are there any improvements?
I hope so, because the last project I posted the emission lights with the material even if I increased them the light rays didn’t work but only Bloom, I hope it’s not my laptop that has a 16g GTX 1070 card.
I wish you a good day and good work. Thank you

Hi mate, yeah, the 2.4.1 fixed some bugs, but there is no new feature in it. We will work on new features after the current version becomes stable.

This feature is pretty much the only thing I miss from Enscape. Please add stars/moon to night skies.

Hi, there is a tutorial on YouTube that shows you can have a starry sky with HDRI

That guy makes great videos, but unfortunately I need to be able to do it without an HDRi as I need accurate solar transitions for garden designs.

D5 hasn’t put this function on SKY yet, this proposal has been requesting it for almost a year, and I had to make do with HDRI, these are some tests done in the past

Tall people would have to duck under that moon, it’s massive! Not being able to scale HDRis in some way creates a new set of issues so I’m hoping the D5 team will hopefully offer us a simple solution soon.

Hi, hdri is an image downloaded from ‘Google images’, a starry sky in the JPG format, which I then modified with Adobe Photoshop, giving a dimension of 4 or 8 K. You’re right, the moon is not part of the hdri but it is a resource put by me and the size is desired, I gave it a source of white light that goes on gray, because I did other experiments also giving it a red color. And just to experiment on some exterior background, just for scenography.

I also used it for fun, to test a spaceship scene
