More Ideas and suggestions

Hello D5 render team. It is already few months that I have been using your product in the pro version, and I am are really happy about it. Very useful program for us (architecture and public space designers), to get quick images with very good quality in short time.
I also, have been following the recent updates and improvements, and there are few things that I haven’t seen suggested, which I think might be really useful in the d5 workflow.
1. Be able to replace objects/assets placed in the model for another asset. Now you can change imported assets and replace them with others but only those you have imported from your local disk and not those from the D5 library. Example: I create a skp. Model with simple 2d or low poly trees and want to replace them by a specific d5 tree asset, now I cant and I have to place them one by one…which means that for big urban models in this case, D5 is not really an option…
2. Being able to adjust the textures included in d5 render by clicking the button and finding the route where the specific texture is located, now it doesn’t show.
3. Improved sun system, generally, I consider the interior output gets better result than exterior, or at least in a quick workflow the output is way better for interior than exteriors where being able to modify and adjust more parameters would be very appreciated to match specific sun conditions and get even more realistic results! (It is great anyway, but you can always do better :d)
4. Real sun function, similar to the one implemented in SketchUp where you define location, day, month and time of the day, that would be a really useful tool.
5. Direct connection with megascan bridge, to facilitate the importation of new textures and asset.
6. Being able to reimport the scenes created in SketchUp once the D5 render importation is been made and work has been done in the d5 render file. Now only the scenes that were saved in the SketchUp file when the importation was made appear. So basically, when you hit the reload button, to update the changes in model also reimport the scenes (without deleting the ones already created in d5).
7. Photomatch would be also very useful, although since the connection with SketchUp scenes is working, it is not of huge importance but still would be a wonderful addition.
8. One that would be a massive change is being able to import SketchUp file maintaining its component structure or component hierarchy (outliner with groups and components) and not rely only on different texture ID to apply different materials,
Other than that, just to add my vote to the other additions! Congrats to the work you are doing! Great stuff, really! it is great you keep the program simple, and not over complicated. I see a similar philosophy with sketchup and there I see your potential! simple and powerful! for those who think that a pro program means tons of parameters and necessarily difficult to master… d5 is and Easyfriendly program that enables you to get pro visual outputs with almost no time and learning curve. Perfect combo!

hi CoB,

Thank you for your feedback!

A better replace function is already under development to support replacing models in the asset library

The sky system, which calculates the position of the sun from geographic information, will also be available in a later version.

In addition, a better way to import and manage assets is also in the planning stage
