Greetings, D5 team!
In order to make tracks from wheels in the snow, you have to resort to tricks. But unfortunately, they don’t always work correctly.
The method consists in creating a transparent object on top of the snow so that it masks the snow.
But the problem with this method is that when the camera moves away, the tracks disappear.
I suggest adding some functionality.
- the range of drawing snow cover masking. The same function applies to the range of drawing grass.
- Invisible material that will mask the snow and create footprints.
- A function that will exclude the object\material from the list that will be affected by snow. (for example, cars that don’t move and won’t have snow on them)
- A function that will allow objects not to mask the snow (for example, cars that are standing but there will be snow under them.
- Blurring and enlarging the border of the mask.
It would also be cool if you could draw footprints in the snow with a brush, and it would also be great if you could draw snowdrifts in certain places. For example, on the sidewalk, when you apply the brush, a certain amount of snow will be created.
