It would be useful if we could add a Light to a Local Asset library.
This will allow users to use some commonly custom-used light in similar projects.
Second, it will allow “Replace From Assets” to place light sources with some imported placeholders. Eg. replace boxes (imported as a Group) with Light Source.
Hope that makes sense.

Hi mate, we can combine light objects with models then add them to the local library. But it is not supported to directly add one or more light objects to the local because they are not in .d5a format. We may support it in future.
If by “combining light objects with the model” you refer to the Emissive Effect controlled by black&white maps, then this will not work for my goal to Replace light sources from Assets.
Since 2.4 GI will probably remain as it is and this GI solution targets mostly Interiors scenes and it will do a great job we have to think about exteriors too. This GI solution has bad calculations for Emissive and smears all over the place (especially in night exterior scenes). Sometimes I think that Smooth preview has a better Emisive than Precise mode.
So users will have to relay to real light sources and have more need to distribute to some placeholders, along some paths, etc.
I`m very concerned by the look of Emissive and how it acts as LED stripes. I test a lot of different workflows and didn’t have any satisfying results yet.
