Here are my render times using an RTX 4060 Ti 16GB:
-
Render 1: Ray Tracing – 3:55
-
Render 2: Path Tracing (Lowest: 1:1:64) – 4:47
-
Render 3: Path Tracing (Mid GI, Low Reflection: 2:1:64) – 7:11
-
Render 4: Path Tracing (High GI, Low Reflection: 3:1:64) – 7:59
-
Render 5: Path Tracing (Default: Low GI, Mid Reflection: 1:2:64) – 5:56
-
Render 6: Path Tracing (Low GI, High Reflection: 1:3:64) – 6:40
-
Render 7: Path Tracing (Mid GI, Mid Reflection: 2:2:64) – 9:18
-
Render 8: Path Tracing (High GI, High Reflection: 3:3:64) – 12:04
-
Render 9: Path Tracing (Highest: 3:3:256) – 45:56
MY Recommendations
-
Path Tracing is a must – A 22% render time increase is nothing for the added realism.
-
GI Precision? leave it at 1– Unless you have specific cases where it does makes a difference.
-
Reflection Depth? – 1 vs. 2 is a real choice. Do you want higher contrast or smoother reflections? I’d go with 1 unless critical details are lost.
-
SSP? Keep it at 64 – No need for more unless you notice artifacts in very dark areas. Even comparing high SPP settings, I didn’t see much difference.
