I am a project coordinator at my architecture studio, and over the past two months, I have been trying to transition from programs like Lumion, V-Ray, and Enscape to D5. While we have seen improvements in both quality and rendering time, our entire team has encountered very serious issues that are making us consider abandoning the software.
First, as I mentioned in previous posts, we have experienced texture loading issues when reopening files and even problems with D5’s own components, where some load correctly while others do not. But now, we are facing an even more critical issue: the file gets stuck on the loading screen at 5%, resulting in the complete loss of the file and all work.
I need to know if there is a solution or if this issue will be addressed, because I see that several people on the forum are experiencing the same problem. This is already the second time it has happened on my team. We work with SKP files, and the file in question is no larger than 200 MB.
I apologize for the inconvenience. Does this happen in all files? Or is it file-specific?
If it is possible, please try to open a demo scene file in D5 and try to check your task manager if which GPU has an increased number. Under normal circumstances, GPU 1 (RTX 3070) should be carrying the load while opening D5 Render otherwise, you may need to disable the Integrated GPU.
Can you please send us the full image of the following screenshots:
As for the issue regarding the texture loading issue, I believe my colleague has responded and asked some questions. It would be best to reply for us to better troubleshoot the issue.
Additionally, please try to download or transfer the file in your local file path directory instead of opening it directly from Google Drive. Let us know for any updates. Thank you.
Hi, the same thing is happening to me. The only thing that worked for me to continue with the scene was to copy the project folder and work locally (outside the GD folders). I also tried using GD’s offline folders option, but that didn’t work either. If anyone knows a solution to be able to work directly from the GD folder, please share.
This is still the recommended workflow. If your files are stored in a cloud storage and you may need to do some editing, revising, or just overall working then it would be best to store the files locally first.
This workflow will be optimized in the subsequent release. Thank you for your understanding.
