Hello D5 Team,
I would like to suggest an enhancement for the D5 Converter for Revit, specifically regarding the “Sync Light” function.
The Current Problem: Currently, when we click “Sync Light”, the plugin updates the position and the type of the light families perfectly. However, it does not seem to carry over the specific photometric parameters set inside Revit. We still have to manually adjust intensity, color temperature, and size for each light source inside D5, which creates double work.
The Proposed Solution: Please enable the “Sync Light” button to also read and update the following parameters from the Revit Family directly into the D5 Light parameters:
-
Intensity: Sync the Revit
Initial Intensity(Wattage/Lumens) to D5 Intensity. -
Color Temperature: Sync the Revit
Initial Color(Kelvin value) to D5 Temperature. -
Source Size: Sync the Revit
Light Source Definitiondimensions (Emit from Shape: Rectangle/Circle sizes) to the D5 Light Source Radius/Width/Length. -
Beam Angle: For spotlights, sync the Revit
Spot Field Angle/Beam Angleto the D5 Cone Angle.
Why this is important: This would allow us to use Revit as the “single source of truth” for lighting data. If we adjust a light’s power or warmth in the technical project (Revit), a simple “Sync” should reflect that instantly in the visualization without manual rework.
Thank you!
