Hi Lia,

Are you also planing to implement light baking (also known as lightmapping), a technique used to pre-calculate static lighting information and store it in textures (lightmaps). Instead of calculating lighting in real-time during rendering, baked lighting data is used, which significantly improves performance—especially in complex scenes or virtual reality applications.

This is a standard practice in real-time engines like Unity, where light baking is a key optimization strategy for VR projects. By reducing the real-time lighting computation load, baked lighting helps achieve smoother performance and higher frame rates, which are crucial for immersive VR experiences.

I believe implementing a similar workflow in D5 would be a great enhancement for users focusing on real-time and VR presentations.
Looking forward to your thoughts on this!

That’s amazing! I’d love to try out the new features. I’ve always used VR mode and have been waiting for performance updates. It’s a great tool that felt a bit forgotten, so I’m really excited to know it’s being worked on.
